Pinan Yondan

Pinan Yondan is generally the fourth kata taught in the Wado Ryu syllabus. Yondan meaning level four and the word "Pinan" being (more recently) translated as "Safe from Harm" rather than an older translation "Peaceful Mind". This Kata builds upon the first three Pinan Katas in its complexity. The original Pinan Series was develpoed by Anko Itosu in the 1890s and adopted into Wado Ryu by Otsuka Sensei on forming Wado Ryu in 1934.
